Niko French, alongside team partners Young Timers Garage and Summons Racing, are proud to announce Suzuki Australia as the primary partner on Niko French’s #07 Hyper Racer X1 for the 2025 Hankook Australian Driver’s Championship.
Suzuki is renowned for creating fun and value packed vehicles and operates locally under the mantra of ‘For Fun’s Sake’. For Suzuki, this partnership represents a natural synergy of cost effective, exciting and high-performance motorsport. The class utilises Suzuki’s Hayabusa engine in the Australian made Hyper Racer’s, and Suzuki takes prime position on French’s X1 for the 5 remaining rounds of the Australian Drivers Championship.
French, who finished third overall in the first round of the Australian Driver’s Championship before a post-event penalty dropped him to fourth, is extremely excited to unveil his new look for Round 2. The #07 will carry a familiar White, Red and Blue livery inspired by Suzuki’s brand and racing pedigree.
“It is an honour to be representing Suzuki in the Australian Driver’s Championship,” French said. “The livery looks unbelievable and attracts comments of reminiscence to Suzuki’s of old from anyone who sees it. You won’t be able to miss it out on track, or on social media, that’s for sure!”.
Dean Crooke, Hyper Racer’s CEO, echoed French’s excitement to see Suzuki’s involvement in the series, highlighting the success the product has had with the mighty Hayabusa 1340cc power plant. “The X1 was designed to be a low maintenance, “wash and race” vehicle,” Crooke said. “The engine obviously plays the biggest role in that, and with cars racing multiple years in a row on nothing but regular oil changes, we couldn’t have found a better engine for these cars.”
“In 1962, only a few years after Suzuki’s first car and motorcycle were introduced, we won the Isle of Man TT. Since then, the brand’s passion for motorsport has only grown and this partnership allows us to continue a long standing tradition of passion and performance within the motorsport industry in Australia,” Suzuki General Manager Automotive, Michael Pachota said.
The Suzuki-backed #07 Hyper Racer X1 will hit the track when the Australian Drivers’ Championship returns for round 2 at One Raceway, this weekend, April 5-6. “We performed extremely well at this circuit last year securing multiple podiums”, said French. “We are aiming to repeat that performance again this year”.
